Let talk about the key ingredients to having success in your home based business. Some thing that seems quite simple can make the biggest difference to you attaining success.

As I sat in a conference with my team to learn more about how to build a Home Based Business, I realized that there was a key difference between those of us who work the business full time, and those who wish they could...

I wondered why everyone in the room (there was about 120 of us), why each and every one is not able to quite there job and work the business full time. Now, I know that it is not practical for most people to do so, and I actually don’t recommend it for most people right out of the gates. But there seems to be a key difference between those who will go home and BUILD the business and those who won’t.
Let’s talk about the majority of people first – those who WILL NOT actually go home and build the business. Now, half the battle is to SHOW UP to the presentation, the training, the seminar... so it’s great to see many people were there.

But people seem to be bottled up with fear. Fear of approaching, fear of success, fear of rejection...

The concern I have with this is that if people are serious about building a home based business that will set them free, they HAVE TO FACE their fears... head on. I didn’t know that this business DEMANDS PERSONAL GROWTH when I first got started. But that is what it’s about.

You see, we are our own worst enemy. We create the fear, the distractions, the procrastination etc. But if YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR DREAMS, you will take a good look at yourself and ask, are you the type of leader that others will want to join? If not, understand your fears and insecurities and work on them!

This home based business industry can offer you the world. But you have to be able to GET OVER YOURSELF and push through your fears. Easier said than done isn’t it.

Well, let me share with you what I believe to be the key to building a home based business.

The Key ingredient is your DESIRE to achieve success. Does that sound a bit airy to you? Well, it’s true. That’s why most companies will get you to figure out your ‘why’, you know, why is it that you want to build a home based business. What’s really in it for you?

So every time you have that little voice inside of your head question whether you can do this or not, tell yourself that your DESIRE TO SUCEED is greater than your fear.

Building a home based business is not easy, if it were everyone would be doing it. But one of the main reasons this business is not ‘easy’ is because of the state of mind that we enter the business with. It took me a couple years to build my business with confidence. A big part of that was because I was not aware of what it would take to build this business. I didn’t realize that it was me that I had to work on, not others.

I had the vision of how my lifestyle would be like when I get there – working a home based business full time. And I’m stubborn as hell; nobody could take that vision away.

I want to be a bit more concrete then just saying you have to figure out your fears because that’s just a part of the equation. You have to DEVELOPE YOUR SKILLS to succeed in this business. You have to be a student of this business. So figure out what area you are weak in and buy the books, listen to the audios; do whatever it takes to get exposed to the right information and practice like any other professional in any other field would.

There are a countless number of materials out there and I will share those with you over time. So get serious with yourself and realize what is at stake here. It’s those things that you desire... are they worth getting uncomfortable?

When you are building a home based business you are building an asset that will offer you the things and lifestyle you’ve dreamt of. Develop your skills and build your business.

Are you looking to start your business from home? With the changing economy many people are now looking for business opportunities, but are not really sure where to start.

Often times people jump the gun and will join the first business opportunity they are presented with little understanding of how to evaluate what a good business opportunity is. To start your business from home follow these three tips and you will be well on your way.

1) Shift in Mindset. If you are use to working for others, you need to shift your mind set from being a employee to being the boss. I have found that this is one of the most difficult things to train others on. People get use to having others tell them what to do. If you want to be in business for yourself, you need to be the toughest boss to yourself that you have ever had.

2) Separate business and pleasure. If you are going to have a home office, make sure you spouse understands that you are still ‘at work’. It is so easy to get side tracked with small house duties but you need to get focused on that task you have set out to do. When looking to start your business from home, procrastination is the ultimate killer.

3) Set a daily schedule. This has really helped me keep on track and know exactly what I need to complete for the day. A part of this is to set a time when you are going to check your email. As quick as checking your email is, doing it 30 – 40 times is simply not needed. Productivity will skyrocket when you have a set time to complete small mundane tasks, and focus your efforts on the money producing activities.

Often times as I set out my plans for the coming week, it helps to have a list to do and to prioritize what’s most important. The easiest way to do this is to understand which activities contribute to the growth of your sales. Ask yourself, what needs to happen for me to get paid? And that’s where you start.

As you being to start your business venture, whether it is in Networking Marketing, or supply chain management, these three tips will help you stay on track to building a thriving enterprise.

Tim Sales is a trainer for the Network Marketing industry and is the creator of a few different products such as Professional Inviter, Brilliant Questions, and Brilliant Compensation just to name a few. But are you really getting your money's worth purchasing these products?

Let's take a step back and figure out why Tim Sales has created these products. Take Brilliant Compensation for example. This is a video of Tim Sales giving an in-depth review of the Network Marketing industry. He goes through very logical arguments of why Network Marketing is a legitimate business. But I think Tim Sales wants to do much more then just help others with the understanding of what Network Marketing or Multi Level Marketing (MLM) means.

Tim Sales has created a number of tools to help people get the proper training to build a Network Marketing Business. If you are questioning whether or not you should make the investment and purchase one of Tim's training tools such as Professional Inviter or Brilliant Compensation, you need to first ask yourself a few questions.

I believe that many people enter this industry thinking that it's going to be easy and that they don't need to get trained on how to build a Network Marketing Business. This is understandable as many people are taught to recruit others by says, "I think this will be very good for you", or "I know you're going to do well at this". The truth is you don't. In my four years experience in the Network Marketing industry, time and time again I am surprised at who 'succeeds' in this business. So some of the questions that you need to ask yourself are;

- Do you need to get trained to move your business forward?

- Do you have the skills to build a successful business?

- Do you know how to effectively market and promote your business, even after you hit the bottom of your names list?

Understand this, your best thinking has gotten you to where you are now. Period. If you don't think you need the training - then you must be happy with where you are at. So some people think it is luck that builds your business. Tim Sales does not.

Tim Sales has broken down the activities of a network marketer into 3 basic parts. Invite, Present, Train. Tim methodically breaks down each of these activities and gives a step-by-step guide of what to say and how to say it. He gives you a better understanding of how to approach people so you feel comfortable knowing that you are only there to help the other person. I have witnessed many 'light bulbs' go off with people who are exposed to Professional Inviter and Brilliant Compensation as they feel confident in what they are saying as well as what they are promoting.

Products such as Brilliant Questions and Brilliant Communicator go into even greater detail helping people know what to say to the prospects, and how to say it. So it goes without saying that if you are serious about building your network marketing business, you need to get exposed to the right training. Tim Sales has a flaw though... and that is he is only teaching people outdated methods. Sure these traditional methods can (and for some do) work. But approaching friends and family, calling leads, presenting at hotel meetings, is hardly an attractive "Business building activity" for many.

So if you want to sharpen your communication skills or if you have any doubt about the industry, then yes, purchasing Tim Sales products is worth the investment. But to learn new strategies to build and market your business, Tim Sales falls short. If you're looking for more "how to build" answers make sure to check out my link on the right.

The majority of people in network marketing continue to search for successful strategies as they find traditional methods being taught are much too hard.

So why are we content on teaching strategies that have a known high failure rate? Are these people not cut out for Network Marketing, or is there something systemically wrong with our strategies? When I first got started with network marketing I thought it was a bit odd that I was taught to approach all of my friends and family, or better known as our ‘warm market’. Though I did it because I thought it made sense for these are people who know and trust me, so why not.

Like many in the industry, I was shocked at the resistance I was faced with. But I was determined to make the business work and figure out successful strategies that I could pass on to my down line. In my mind to have a successful system means to have something in place that others could employ with as little troubles as possible.

So I looked at what we were being asked to do. The first thing was to approach all the people that we know. Well simply put, most people who I knew weren’t interested in what I had to say. Imagine if you ran a Pizza store and you were to call up people that you know to ask if they would like to purchase a pizza tonight. Is that what you call a successful strategy? Then why do we do it in our Network Marketing Businesses?

After three years in the industry I have finally learned something powerful. A successful strategy would include both warm market and cold market strategies.

1) Warm Market. Understand that there may only be a handful of people who you know right now who would be interested in building a home based business. These people can prove to be some of your best business partners.

The downfall with your warm market is that you only know so many people, and it is painfully slow to build on that number using traditional methods.

2) Cold Market. There are an infinite number of people in the cold market (people who you do not currently know or have a relationship with). When you learn successful strategies on how to market to people who are in other towns, cities, states, or even countries – now you have opened the doors of opportunity.

Technology now allows us to communicate with thousands of people with the click of the button. Sure, approach the people who you would like to work with but realize the massive potential when you look to the cold market. Possibilities are endless when you develop successful strategies that utilize technologies to communicate with others and build relationships.

Network Marketing (also know as NWM) has been around for some decades now but there still seems to be some confusion as to what the business model has to offer. Here are the Pros and Cons of building a NWM business so you know what you are getting into!

Lets first clear the air and get right at the heart of what NWM is as a business model. It is simply the METHOD of which the product or service is DELIVERED to the customer. Many still have the impression that any business where there is a referral system in place which compensates their distributors, MUST be a scam. This could not be further from the truth. The fact is that many major corporations are now employing the network marketing model into their business such as Coca Cola.

Business has always been dealt this way - building an organization which will expand the distribution channels to reach more customers. That is really what it is all about. The job of a distributor in a NWM company is to do just that. The main difference is they (the company) have opened up their doors to now allow other people to partner up and start a 'side business'. The relative low cost of starting this kind of business is a huge benefit as you now have (in most cases) the marketing materials, the name, the product, the legal stuff, the distribution, the order process... (and much much more) ALL in place.

So that being said, lets look at some of the Cons to build a NWM business.

- You are not paid for every hour you work (especially in the beginning)

- Will take time and persistence to become successful

- You will be face with objections and rejection which many find hard to take

- You may want to learn new ways to build your business without approaching people you know

Well, I must say I have a biased opinion. I've been in the industry for 4 years now and feel that it has a lot to offer. Such as:

- Flexibility to work when and where you want

- Able to travel and take time off, as you see fit.

- Do not have to wake up to an alarm clock

- Be your own Boss

- Take control of your life and do the things your passionate about.

That is just to name a few. Is it right for you? Hard to say. It will take some work, no matter what anyone tells you. But IF you are willing to put in the time, the industry certainly has a lot to offer.

I have found that most people are weary of the strategies that are presented to them of how they are to build a NWM business. If you want to learn how to build this kind of business building with real MARKETING strategies where you know who your target market is and how to reach them - EVERYTHING changes.

Make sure to follow the link below to learn more about the mistakes I have made along the way and how I have been able to go full time in the NWM industry.

When I first joined my Network Marketing Business I was asked to write down My Why. That is, Why am I building this business and what is at stake.

I have now been in the industry for four years and from experience I can say that writing your Why is perhaps one of the most important steps – especially at the beginning.

I say that because at the beginning people are faced with many surprises they first did not foresee. Such as rejection, the surprise that they’re not making six figures within months... and all of the different hardships. The first 13 months in a Home Based Business are action packed with highs and lows that most people aren’t typically used to in a 9am to 5pm job.

To answer the question, “Does my why build the business?” I would have to answer yes, and no. Here’s what I mean.

Let’s start with the yes. When you’re new to the industry and you’re trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t, one can experience a whirlwind of emotion. I have seen that when someone doubts themselves or has strong feelings of fear (fear of rejection for example) these are the two most stifling emotions. My why has definitely come to good use when I was questioning if it’s all really worth it. I would stop myself and look at my why and say, “Yes it really is worth it and failure is not an option”. I would attribute this attitude to my success in the industry.

I also believe that having a strong why is not enough in itself.

I feel that people have taken the ‘Law of Attraction’ a bit too far. If people are sitting at home spending more time on writing affirmations and thinking positive, that will not build your business. We need to understand what activities make our business grow. Connecting with people, building relationships, obtaining new customers, and signing on new associates is what builds our business. My Why has help to keep me focused and implementing proven business building activities is what will create results.
